Sky Cards
August 31, 2009
There is a huge amount of confusion surrounding the new Sky card issue. According to Sky the project will be completed by the end of September, by which all subscribers will have been issued with new cards which should not need to be activated
For “£20 card” holders it’s not quite so straightforward if you bought your card from Sky after 1st May 2006 you are entitled to a new card for free (but you have to apply for it).
All the information and options are to be found on Sky’s dedicated Replacement Card site.

Got something to say?

I ordered, and paid for a card to be sent to my UK address, and the site said 7 days. 1 month later, nothing. Cannot seem to get any response by email they want me to pay around £10 to ring them on premium rate number. A friend clocked up close to £20 in phone calls on Skype on top of the non supplied card and still has no card.
I have now contacted the credit card company to get the money back.
I think that sky get the name from the skies the limit on how much we can con you or at least try!!
Sorry to hear about your problems. As with most big companies most of the time things work pretty well but when they go wrong…………..
Last week I spoke to Joanne Scott of Sky regarding replacement viewing card for freesat. Apparently I am wrongly listed as a subscriber, and told I would have to pay £20 for a new card. Joanne Scott confirmed that we were not subscribers as when applying for the mini dish I was told I had to give my credit card details in case I wished to subscribe later on. I was reluctant to do this as all I wanted was to be able to watch the freeview channels which I was unable to do completely using a bought digi box. I was given to understand that the £150 was a one off payment and there was no mention of having to pay to update viewing cards.
The programmes are continually being disrupted with the popup signs telling me to contact sky for a new card.
Will you please sort this out for me and post off a new card in order that I can continue to watch all the freeview channels without restriction and the continued interruption of this notice.
I look forward to receiving my card without delay.
I have tried to telephone Joanne Scott on the number she gave me but have not been successful, in connecting with her. She told me she would personally see that this was sorted out.

Hi Peter, as we have no link with Sky we are unable to help you with this.
If you bought a FreeSatFromSky package after May 2006 then you should be entitled to a free raplacement card see: https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/home , Remember that this must be sent to a UK address.
If you don’t watch Five, Fiver, FiveUS or Sky3, than just remove your card and the pop-ups should go away and you’ll only lose these 4 channels
Hope thats of some help
